Required safeguards
Any future AI-supported initiative will require human clinical oversight, privacy and security review, evidence review, bias monitoring, local adaptation, regulatory assessment, clearly defined limitations, and continuous safety monitoring.
Role of healthcare professionals
AI may support qualified professionals with education, documentation, guideline retrieval, data-quality checks, or referral prompts. It must not replace professional judgment, local clinical leadership, or access to appropriate in-person and emergency care.
