Purpose
Africa Access Health is developing a responsible digital-health approach to help healthcare professionals access timely information, education, specialist input, and clinical decision support. Any future technology will be designed around local priorities, existing clinical workflows, available infrastructure, and applicable legal and professional standards.
Planned areas of work and safeguards
- Digital clinical-reference and continuing-education resources
- Secure provider-to-provider consultation and case discussion
- Decision-support tools for qualified healthcare professionals
- Referral, follow-up, and care-coordination support
- Training in digital literacy, data protection, and responsible AI use
- Human clinical oversight, clear limitations, and final professional judgment
- Review for privacy, security, bias, language accuracy, local relevance, and patient safety
What the program will not provide
AAH does not currently offer automated diagnosis, prescribing, treatment selection, or emergency triage through this website. Future AI-enabled tools will not replace qualified healthcare professionals, physical examinations, laboratory services, medicines, referral systems, or emergency care.
Our approach
Future tools will be locally appropriate, privacy-conscious, clinically supervised, and evaluated for safety, usefulness, equity, and unintended consequences. Specific tools, partners, implementation locations, and participation requirements will be published only after formal approval and verification. Early partnership development is focused on Mauritania and Senegal.
