Purpose
Africa Access Health supports locally appropriate digital-health solutions that can reduce geographic barriers, strengthen continuity of care, and connect healthcare professionals in underserved communities with clinical expertise and educational resources.
Planned areas of work
- Provider-to-provider consultations and specialist support
- Appropriate remote follow-up and care coordination
- Clinical education, mentoring, and case discussions
- Improved referral communication and patient navigation
- Secure sharing of essential health information
- Digital tools that support frontline clinical decision-making
- Community education on accessing connected-care services
What connected care cannot replace
Telehealth cannot replace physical examinations, emergency treatment, medicines, diagnostic equipment, laboratories, or reliable referral services. Programs must be supported by trained personnel, dependable electricity and connectivity, patient privacy protections, accessible languages, and clear pathways to in-person care.
Our approach
Locally led, secure, equitable, evidence-informed, and integrated into existing health systems. AAH is identifying local partners and assessing needs for future pilot activities in Mauritania and Senegal.
